The quality of equipment starts with the materials. The quality of the yarn determines how durable, functional, and comfortable the product will be. At PROTECTOR®, we use only proven materials, each chosen to perform a specific function within the product.
Combed cotton
A natural material made from the longest and strongest cotton fibers. It supports natural ventilation, effectively absorbs moisture, and transfers it away through capillary action. Combed cotton is hypoallergenic, gentle on sensitive skin, and has natural antiseptic properties.Nylon
A high-performance synthetic material that gives the product exceptional strength and resistance to abrasion and stretching. Nylon is extremely lightweight, dries quickly, and holds its shape even after intensive use – making it an essential component in functional sports models.Elastane
A highly elastic fiber added to the product to provide stretch and a precise, secure fit. The material can extend up to 6–8 times its original length and return to its original shape. It resists deformation during use and after washing, helping the product last longer. It is particularly important in compression models.Polypropylene
A highly durable synthetic material with excellent water-repellent properties. It absorbs no moisture, dries rapidly, and helps keep skin dry even during intense physical activity. Polypropylene is resistant to abrasion and dirt, helping the gear last longer even in extreme conditions.Natural wool
A natural material with outstanding thermal insulation and thermoregulating properties. PROTECTOR® uses high-quality merino wool, distinguished by its exceptionally fine and soft fibers. These provide warmth and comfort even during extended wear.Nitron
A soft, lightweight insulating fiber with heat-retention properties that surpass even natural wool. Nitron efficiently wicks moisture away from the body, dries quickly, resists fading in direct sunlight, and retains its rich color and original shape throughout the product’s lifespan.Acrylic
A lightweight synthetic material designed to deliver comfortable, warm performance gear. It’s hypoallergenic, resistant to wear, and dries quickly as it doesn’t retain moisture. When blended with natural fibers, acrylic provides an optimal balance between durability and softness.Polyamide
A strong and elastic synthetic fiber added to natural materials to enhance their durability. Polyamide is lightweight and quick-drying. When combined with elastane or cotton, it provides a secure fit, prevents the product from slipping during movement, and significantly extends its service life.We do not use recycled or regenerated cotton in the production of PROTECTOR® products. This recycled material consists of short fibers, making it less durable and less effective at transferring moisture through capillary action. In addition, low-quality dyes used in such materials may stain footwear and cause skin irritation.
PROTECTOR® also excludes polyester from its production. Although durable, polyester offers limited breathability, creating a “greenhouse effect” that encourages excessive perspiration and unpleasant odors. Instead, we use premium polyamide and nylon, which provide proper airflow and long-lasting comfort.
Quality materials are the foundation of reliable, comfortable gear. When choosing a product, it’s worth considering not only its design and intended use, but also its material composition.
