On 8 September, a large-scale overnight attack on Kyiv caused significant damage to our premises in the city’s Solomianskyi district.

Our team is safe
Most importantly, no one was hurt. We had cancelled night shifts, so no one was at the production facility when the explosions occurred. This is the third powerful strike near our premises in the past three months.
The aftermath of the explosion
One of that night’s explosions occurred about 20 metres from our building. The powerful blast wave left not a single window intact. Glass was scattered everywhere – on the production floor, in the warehouse, stairwell, offices and other parts of the building.

The blast wave also blew out half the doors, and a couple of others were ripped off their hinges. All the windows were blown out, most of them together with their frames. They will now have to be completely replaced. Cracks appeared in the ceiling between the floor slabs.
In fact, we were very lucky. The concrete fence and brick walls stopped much of the shrapnel. The explosion also occurred to one side of our building.
The equipment sustained minimal damage and is now ready for use.
Recovering and continuing our work
Over two days, our whole team worked to clean up after the attack: we removed all the glass and broken structures, carried out wet cleaning in every room, and cleaned the production and storage areas. We temporarily boarded up all the blown-out windows with OSB panels. We still need to replace the windows, restore the doors and carry out other repairs.
But most importantly, we are still standing and continuing to work. Yes, the war has come right to our doorstep, but PROTECTOR® continues manufacturing in Ukraine!
We’re recovering. We’re shipping orders on time. We’re moving forward.
And right now, ordering from protector.ua is the best way to support us!
